Pizza Pizza

Does better ingredients really equal better pizza?!

There are SO many fast food pizza chains for those of us, "Pizza Lovers"... do you ever find it hard to choose one? Between Papa John's, Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, Domino's, Papa Murphy's... the list goes on and on... So what's a girl to do?! I should have prefaced this to say I am a pizza junkie. I would almost always choose pizza for dinner, if I had a choice. I enjoy the nice sit down pizzeria's with the Italian feel, the thin crusted, wood-fired, light cheese pizza- where you feel like you are walking the streest of Italy and the Chicago deep dish- where you are so full you think you can never eat another slice or the New York pizza where you are afraid the toppings will all slide off that huge slice you cannot wait to devour... yeah, I love my pizza. But on more occasions than I would like to admit... I only have time for fast food pizza, the kind I can pick up on my way home from a long day and eat in my pajamas out of the cardboard box... you know what I am sayin'.

Well, here I was, having a debate inside of my head... what should I order? What kind so I want?! Why is it so hard to choose? So, I chose my always reliable fall-back choice... Papa John's. Let me tell you all the reasons I love my Papa John's pizza... Let's start with the CRUST. Wow. It's amazing, first of all, there is a little sweetness to the crust that makes it stand out with all other pizza crusts. It is cooked to PERFECTION... It is a little crispy on the outside, but fluffy and moist on the inside. Another thing I love about Papa John's is that no ingredient is overwhelming on the pizza. You know how sometimes, the sauce is overwhelming or the cheese is too much... well, Papa John's... they have the perfect balance. When you take that first bite, you can really enjoy the whole perfection of all the ingredients mixed perfectly to create the perfect pizza. Another thing I love about Papa John's that they do not put all of the ingredients just plopped on top... there are pieces of the toppings hidden under the first layer of cheese to give a great dimension to the already seemingly perfect pizza. Does better ingredients actually equal better pizza? Absolutely. The pizza we chose to "create" had olives, extra cheese, pepperoni (perfectly cooked, just a little crispy), sausage and bacon. Yes, a meatlover's dream. It really was perfect. Am I craving a pizza right now, is my mouth salivating just a little? Yes, maybe just a little. Who knows... maybe now yours is too!

Tony's Shakes and Fries

TonyBurgers (Shakes and Fries)

Sometimes when I am driving around I see all of these signs "claiming" to be the best food. All of these signs always have a reference... "So-and-so named us to be the best (insert food name) in the world!" Or whatever. Have you ever wondered... Are they really as good as they say?

Well I am always looking for a good burger/fries/shake place... so we decided to test them out.

Here's what they claim...

Their fries and a strawberry-coconut shake and a cookies & cream shake!

Here's the verdict:
AMAZING shakes. Pretty Decent fries.

For all you burger/shakes/fries people... you should go try this place out. It is much like a 5 guys in their ordering and layout of the restaurant. The fries- very fresh... equivalent to a higher quality in-n-out fries. Perfectly crip on the outside, nice and soft on the inside, salted, just barely enough and oh-so filling.
The shakes- AMAZING. First of all, lots of chunks of oreo cookies in the very creamy whipped cream and full of ice cream and nice and thick shake. Best part- the straw. I know, this may sound silly, but it is a big thick straw- the kind you can suck up a lot, I mean a lot of goodness all in one sip. That is the ideal shake. Anyhow, you should go and try it. I don't know if it is the BEST in Salt Lake... but it's up there.

For the Love of Food

Ever since I was a little girl I LOVED food. Still do, in fact. Not to sound too fatty... but I was the one always to be craving, savoring, sometimes even SALIVATING over something good. I was the one to be able to describe in great detail my favorite foods, or more likely the ones I was craving to such an extent that others would crave it as well.

Do you ever feel like that? Well, man oh man, I do. To this day, I love to search out the best, most delicious, most cravable food... and I love to describe it. So much, that, I hope as you are reading this blog... you too, will want to go and try it. So, here's to eating what you love... and loving what you eat!
